We thought we’d make your life a bit easier by showcasing our current top five for you all. In this selection we’ve tried to cover a few bases; high-end, historical, open-plan & then something a bit more snug. All of these venues would make the perfect backdrop for a range of special events and occasions.
Vibe: Old-school glamour

Location: Clerkenwell
This breathtaking grade II, 18th Century venue, is a former courthouse and sports spectacular mezzanines, a grand staircase, glass atrium and dome roof. A popular venue during London Fashion Week, the Old Sessions House is an ideal backdrop for anybody looking for a glamorous and in-vogue London event venue.
Vibe: Spacious & industrial
Space: Studio – two floors
Location: Kingsland
The Film Shed has been through many transformations in its time. From being a part of the London Gaslight & Coke company to being a textiles company, then a carpark(!), the building is now a spacious studio and is a great blank canvas to fill with unique furniture pieces. The walls of The Film Shed are still rich with its industrial history, giving it a unique feel.
Vibe: Cosy but cool, perfect for a more intimate event
Space: House (two floors)
Location: Cambridge Heath
Smith is a converted ironmongers and architecturally designed house in East London. Quite simply, it’s jaw-dropping. The house’s centrepiece is the minimalist kitchen with its walnut walls, high ceiling, long marble counter and viewing gallery above. The house also includes stylishly fitted sitting, eating and sleeping areas. If you want an intimate event in a modern design-led space, the Smith house would make a fab choice.
Vibe: Mid-century cool
Space: Kitchen studio
Location: North London
Want to cook up a storm in style? The Loft is primarily an open kitchen space, so ideal for an event revolving around food. The interiors are evocative of 1960s design trends, with plenty of wooden surfaces and warm, earthy colours (we love a bit of mustard). It’s perfect for fans of mid-century furniture and architecture.
Vibe: Unique & Victorian
Space: Academic/historic building
Location: Southampton Row
Saving perhaps the most entrancing of the five venues until last – The College in central London is a truly unique event space that will make you step back in time. The historic venue comprises of different sized and styled spaces, making it a favourite for high-scale parties and events. Many of the space’s original features remain untouched, including bespoke furniture, marble reception areas, and a beautiful glass-dome roof. Another favourite of London’s high-society, The College evokes an atmosphere of glitz and glamour.
