Planning your wedding should be fun and exciting, not dreaded and put off. So whilst you’re stuck at home during lockdown, use this as an opportunity to get on top of everything and tick some wedmin tasks off your to-do list.

Based on a typical engagement length of 10 to 18 months, it has been estimated that the average couple spends between 200 to 300 hours planning their wedding.

Keep your guests in the loop

We’ve seen this idea pop up quite a bit in the past few months. It’s a great, refreshing idea to keep both yourselves and your guests informed and ready for your big day.

And that ideas is, create a wedding website or private Facebook group dedicated to your wedding to keep your guests in the loop.

Update your family and friends on your planning, ask for their opinions, show them your mood boards or go the extra mile and start a little blog about your journey for those who you haven’t been able to see for a while.

Ok, this next tip isn’t your typical wedding task, but who said lockdown wedding planning had to be a chore!

Zoom planning 

You may have not been able to see your guests of honour for some time now, so in true lockdown fashion, get a zoom sorted and get planning together. Ask for your maids or honour and groomsmen for their take on your ideas and plans; show them your Pinterest boards (take a peek at ours for some furniture hire inspiration) and get some feedback; they may even bring some new ideas to the table.

You could even grab a glass of bubbles and make more of an event out of it, it is your wedding after all!

 

Get creative

Get your creative hat on and make some of those ideas on your mood boards come to life. From big picture stuff like the colour scheme, the theme and the venue, down to the little details such as DIY invites, hand-made table seating names, table decorations, DIY doughnut wall (may as well). Whatever it is you have in mind, use this time to bring it to life.
